Pentadecanoic acid (also known as C15:0 and sold as Fatty15 in some markets) is a naturally occurring, odd-chain saturated fatty acid found primarily in whole-fat dairy products, certain fish, and plants. Supplement forms provide a concentrated, pure version of this single fatty acid without the accompanying full-fat calories.

Coming Soon. Pentadecanoic acid supplements are not yet available for sale in Canada.

Researchers investigate C15:0 for its structural and signaling roles in human cells:

Cell Membrane Support: It integrates into cellular membranes, helping stabilize their structure against oxidative stress and degradation.

Mitochondrial Function: In laboratory and animal models, it is studied for its ability to support mitochondrial energy production and repair.

Metabolic Pathways: Cell studies show it activates key metabolic and longevity-related signaling pathways, such as AMPK and PPAR-alpha/delta, while dampening pro-inflammatory pathways.

Observational Findings: Population studies observe that higher circulating levels of odd-chain fatty acids like C15:0 are associated with favorable markers for cardiometabolic, liver, and immune system health.

Notes:

Human clinical trials are early and ongoing to determine long-term effects.
